Swan Trust:

  • Founded 1992
  • Owns 1358 acres in the headwaters of Big Swan Creek called Big Swan Headwaters Preserve
  • Protects Big Swan Headwaters Preserve with a perpetual conservation easement held by the Tennessee Parks and Greenways Foundation
  • Owns 100 acres in the headwaters of Big Bigby Creek called the Highland Woods Preserve
  • Owns a 23-acre state natural area (“SNA”) in Lewis County, TN called the Langford Branch SNA, which is cooperatively managed with the Tennessee Natural Areas Program
  • Holds and monitors a 21-acre conservation easement in Perry County
  • Holds and monitors three conservation easements in Lewis County, Tennessee
  • Conducts outings for the general public, environmental educational activities for children and adults, and participates in regional environmental projects with partner organizations
  • Organizes volunteer workdays to accomplish land stewardship activities, such as invasive plant removals and trail improvements, on Swan Trust preserves.
