Bird Monitoring Program

To fulfill the terms of the grant from USFWS, a bird monitoring project began in spring 1999.The purpose of this project is to compile a baseline species list of year-round residents, summer-breeders, and neotropical migrant bird species using the remote riparian corridors and associated uplands for habitat. Many of these birds are threatened due to habitat loss in the forests of Central and South America as well as the United States. The monitoring extends onto adjacent lands in the 5,000-acre headwaters protection project area.
